Otterly grateful

As an act of thanksgiving, I drew an otter. The otter is a symbol of God's provision for me (long story), so it's a visual reminder of my many blessings. 

 

This is the Strathmore Gray Scale Paper. I haven't had much luck with this paper - it's so textured and not in a good way. At first, it kinda looked like this otter slammed his face against a metal grate   You can read my detailed review of this paper.

 

It's also my first time drawing on black paper. After many layers, this ended up having an oil painting feel about it, which was completely unintended. But I like it all the same ♥
