Howl's Moving Castle

My kids were watching Howl's Moving Castle by Studio Ghibli - I took one look at the castle and said, "I NEED TO DRAW THAT. " 

And so I did.

It's been a while since I used a pen. Did a very rough pencil sketch of the big shapes, then free-handed with a black fineliner. Was pleasantly surprised that my drawing skills have improved without me quite realising it ☺️

 

I wanted to replicate the rich colours and markers are the most saturated, but they're also not great for blending and producing nuanced hues, so I went with coloured pencils. I guess it turned out to be a good call.
